THE EARLY DAYS

About Tin Head

Tucked away in an industrial estate on the outskirts of Bolton, a father and son are quietly brewing up a storm.

Nick and Neil Walton established Tin Head Brewery on Bradley Fold Trading Estate back in 2016 as a home to their passion for creating their own beer.

The venture proved a huge success, with the brewery receiving plaudits for its products, as well as its eye-catching can designs.

Although they have brewed a range of beers, Tin Head mostly specialise in New England IPAs, all of which are created on site.

THE NEXT STEP

Tin Head Tap Room

Following feedback from customers, the pair opened a tap room in October, despite neither having any experience of running a bar.

From the outside, it looks like any other unit on the trading estate, but inside is a wood-panelled watering hole fit to grace any town or city centre.

Co-owner Nick said: “It has been going really well. The word is definitely spreading.”

“It has been a bit of a learning curve, but from the day we opened, more people have been coming in every week. People just want somewhere they can drink decent, local beers.”

Our New Online Store

The Covid-19 pandemic of 2020 has resulted in the closure of all pubs, bars and restaurants and has therefore forced businesses to re-think their strategies.

In the case of Tin Head Brewery, this meant the acceleration and escalation of the number of cans and mini kegs that we produced due to the increased demand for home consumption during the lockdown.

This has led us to create our new online store, and you can now purchase our full range of cans and kegs direct from this website.

Hub Cap

A Vermount IPA – ABV 5.0%.
Our take on a true classic, dry hopped with loads of Citra & Simcoe for a boot full of sweet, fruity, malty flavours. Grab yourself a tin and take your tastebuds for a drive to tropical heaven.

Junk Yard Dog

An American Pale Ale – ABV 4.7%.
This dog comes with a real bite from the bags of Citra and Mosaic hops we pack in to it. Unfiltered and unpasteurised for maximum flavour with bags of tropical citrus notes. Once bitten, we know you ain’t gonna be shy!

Nuts & Bolts

A Juicy Pale Ale – ABV 5.0%.
This tin is rammed with juicy fruity flavours, dry hopped with Citra and Ekuanot. Exploding with Pineapple and Mango. A hazy finish adds character and depth to this tasty ale. Store cool and drink fresh.

Star Tin Andle

A New Zealand IPA – ABV 6.0%.
Once you get this engine started, you will not want to stop! Crank up your gears with the rush of all the tropical citrus flavours from the myriad of Motueka & Rakau hops. With an injection of Passionfruit and Pine needle notes. This is one accelerated thrill of a drive.

Tin Cat Alley

A Session Pale Ale – ABV 3.9%.
This alley cat is an extremely well-balanced creature, showcasing a unique single (Mosaic) hopped flavour. A very easy to drink Pale Ale that is clean and crisp with an incredible balance between juicy fruit flavours and hop bitterness. Embrace the moggy.

Junk Man Porter

A Vanilla Porter – ABV 5.5%.
Don’t be deceived by its dark oily colour, as this smooth Porter is packed with Madagascan Vanilla followed by a velvety long-lasting chocolate finish on the palette. This is no junk of a drink!
